Brand new old stock vintage Fornasetti porcelain hand decorated Ashtray featuring the face of opera singer Lina Cavalieri. Dimensions: 5 1/8” diameter, 1 1/4” height. Weighs 10 ounces. Made by hand in Milan, Italy. Brand new unused condition with box and gift wrap. Dates from about 1999. Makes a wonderful gift. This painting on this trinket dish, jewelry holder, or traditional ashtray — best yet, an art decor piece, has a pointalist style to the face of Lina Cavalieri, modernizing her. Notice back of ceramic has a non-standard 1, this is an indication of this vintage retired style. The same No. 1 Ashtray today on Fornasetti’s or Nieman Marcus’s websites have a number 1 like this, “1.” And the left ear shows, while here the right ear shows. Nose is straighter here. This vintage one is different than what you can buy today so it’s more special. Piero Fornasetti considered Lina Cavalieri his artistic muse. Price is firm.
