Armstreet Medieval Franks Women Costume Dress and Shawl are made from Flax linen. Underarm to Underarm measurement is about 22inches and the length shoulder to hem about 53inches. The dress has been shortened to 53 inches - shortened by folding the trim up and securing it all around, which could easily be undone, if needed. Fit is between a 12 or 14 I think. The Shawl measures about 58 by 80 inches. Does not include a chemise. From the website: The design of the Frankish costume is close to a traditional women's costume of 9-10 centuries, shown in illuminated manuscripts as multilayered garment, hiding the figure behind the draping folds. The dress with short sleeves is richly decorated with wide borders, depicting silverwork with gold impregnations and precious stones. The trim borders the bottom of the full skirt, a wide boat neck, the sleeves, and belt. In contrast to the Merovingian costume, the belt rose higher, delicately underlining the bust. It goes through two golden loops at the sides of the dress, laces and ties up from behind with a long, twisted golden cord. Mantles, circlets and various decorations were big among the noble francs, so we've included a large shawl. The shawl is a rectangular linen cloth trimmed with braid and can be used as a headdress, hood, or cape for your choice; wear it fastened with fibula or brooch, attached to the hair by pins or without any fastening, hanging freely, thrown over the shoulder, or wrapped around.
