Samantha Coleman was a remarkable force in both theatre and disability advocacy. As an adult, an autoimmune condition led to her becoming increasingly deaf and blind. She remained an active part of the Broadway community, turning her passion into fierce advocacy work for theatre accessibility.
This special evening of performances will benefit The Sami Coleman ’17 Theatre Accessibility Endowed Fund, at her alma mater Adelphi University. The fund will provide ongoing support for their Theatre Department and Performing Arts Center in expanding access, cultivating diverse communities, and ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can participate fully in the arts.
The in-person performance will be ASL-interpreted and the livestream will be captioned, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.
