City government plays a major role in ensuring all New Yorkers live in thriving, healthy, safe communities – and a legal document called the NYC Charter is what determines HOW government fulfills that role.
The Racial Justice Commission invites New Yorkers to provide input on critical issues to address through changes to the NYC Charter that would have the greatest impact on the lives of BIPOC New Yorkers. This is a unique opportunity to help the Commission transform the foundational laws of the City to reflect racial justice, equity, and fairness in a way that ensures all New Yorkers live thriving healthy lives regardless of race.
Public input received through mid-September will be reflected in the NYC Racial Justice preliminary report. Sign up to receive NYC Racial Justice Commission updates about input opportunities through December 1, 2021 at bit.ly/RJCEmailSignup
