Seeking Deaf Talent for Circus Omnium: A Bold New Circus is a first of its kind: a singularly inclusive, accessible nonprofit Circus that represents multi-abled performers and celebrates disability and diversity through the joy and excitement of Circus arts. Built on a tripod of Entertainment, Employment, and Education, Omnium Circus is comprehensively inclusive and accessible on stage, behind the scenes, and in our audience. www.OmniumCircus.org Omnium Circus is seeking artists (NYC-based preferred) for 2 roles for our 7-week 2024 spring tour and potentially beyond. Approximate Dates: Feb 19- April 30, not continuous. The exact schedule will be available prior to the audition. The Poet: This is the “muse” of the plot, the Poet works in partnership with the ringmaster as they share the story of strength, courage, and perseverance through the lens of a circus. We look forward to working with creative people who bring their own skills and unique talents to the role. The ideal candidate will have both dance and acrobatics experience. The role will be shared by 2 performers, one Deaf and the other can be D/deaf, HH, coda or fluent in ASL at the level of interpreter. All genders/ identities and demographics are welcome to apply. Please send dance and or acrobatic video submissions along with a cover letter to: casting@omniumcircus.org The deadline for submission is November 3, 2023. A live and in-person callback audition will be held in New York City shortly after. Based on submissions, a west-coast callback may also take place in Las Vegas.
