Gerald Cantor Roof Garden WORLD PREMIERE Jerron Herman, choreographer, dancer, and sound artist Sugandha Gupta, costume designer Dancer and choreographer Jerron Herman responds to The Roof Garden Commission: Lauren Halsey with LAX, a solo dance work which reimagines movement through the Black disabled body and explores the fine line between modernity and antiquity. Unsighted textile artist Sugandha Gupta contributes the piece's ornate, sensory-driven costume, which Herman will put into motion against an original soundscape in this celebration of Disability Pride Month at The Met. Free with Museum admission Spots are limited and first come, first served! This event is presented together with A Celebration—The Roof Garden Commission: Lauren Halsey on Sunday, July 23, and as part of Date Night at The Met and Disability Pride Month at The Met.
