Every year at Carnival, hundreds of artists from across the Caribbean Islands perform in a competition to be the winner of the annual Road March. Their musical anthems glorify the sweet sound of soca, a regional fusion of funk, calypso, electronic dance, reggae, and R&B. Lincoln Center celebrates the enduring spirit and joy of soca music on the occasion of Caribbean American Heritage month by bringing the Road March to New York City for a one-night-only powerhouse concert featuring some of the competition's greatest Kings and Queens. Curated in collaboration with the Trinidad-born, award-winning composer and trumpeter Etienne Charles, the concert features Antiguan living legend and 15-time Calypso Monarch King Short Shirt, 10-time Road March champion calypsonian and inaugural Road March Monarch Superblue, the three-time Queen of Queens and 2020 Calypso Monarch Terri Lyons, 1996's Road March winner Nigel Lewis, and Etienne Charles himself. Don't miss the electrifying sounds of soca's biggest stars at the grand finale of Lincoln Center's Caribbean Day!
