Join Mark Zubrovich, teaching artist and Visitor Services Associate at The Drawing Center, for a participatory drawing workshop that will reflect on the pandemic, self-isolation, and the surge of activism in response to systemic racism, social injustice, and police brutality in the United States, all of which has highlighted the uncertainty and danger that occupies public space. In this workshop, participants will discuss how artists have turned inward to document and reflect on this period of upheaval. Through a selection of drawings from the current exhibition 100 Drawings from Now—including portraits, still lifes, and lists—this workshop will explore the visual records that artists make as a way to articulate their standing in a world outside of their control.
