Disability Community Photoshoot: Lights, Camera, Access! 07/25
Arrive for a stylish night of mingling and fashion photography with the disability community. Come wearing clothes that make you feel your best, whether it’s a favorite t-shirt or a fancy evening gown. Own your story and explore what it means to be the star!
Accessibility: American Sign Language interpretation, ear defenders, fidget tools, wobbly cushions, sighted guides, and verbal descriptions are available.
Visitors can meet sighted guides at the 81st Street entrance. Visitors may borrow manual wheelchairs (standard and wide) from Security at the 81st Street entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.
Format: This program is drop-in and will include an opt-in photoshoot by a disabled photographer as well as socializing. Snacks and drinks will be available.
Inspired by the Dazed and Confused Magazine “Disability in Fashion” issue from the 90's and the 2023 edition of British Vogue featuring Disabled Talent called “Reframing Fashion.”
Presented in celebration of Disability Pride Month and in conjunction with the exhibition Costume Art.
