Dancing Classrooms
Get your hop on! Join Dancing Classrooms Teaching Artists and students for an interactive experience of Lindy Hop and other social dances from around the world. Launched in 1994, Dancing Classrooms is an arts-in-education not-for-profit program dedicated to teaching dance to New York City students via in-school, movement-based residencies for children regardless of background or experience. The program acts as a tool to help children break down social barriers, learn about honor, treat others carefully, improve self-confidence, and communicate and accept others. Join us at 11:00 am for the Pre-Show Family Workshop on The Dance Floor to get your body moving, and then celebrate the amazing young dancers of Dancing Classrooms in their 12:00 pm performance at Hearst Plaza. This event provides accessible seating, designated aisle seats, accessible restrooms, accessible routes, FM assistive listening devices with head sets and neck loops, and American Sign Language interpretation. If you require any additional accommodations, please contact access@lincolncenter.org or 212-875-5375.
