Artist Talk and Art-Making Workshop
Please join us at Brooklyn Botanic Garden for a free ASL Artist Talk & Art-Making Workshop on Saturday March 21 from 1:30 - 4:00 pm! This program is designed for the d/Deaf and signing community. The artist talk will have ASL interpretation and portions of the art-making workshop and program will have no voice interpretation. We'll begin with a behind-the-scenes tour and conversation with artist Nina Browne. Her exhibition Notice/Know/Kin: A Human/Tree Biography is a mixed-media art exhibit that invites us inside the artist’s life and inside wood to reflect on our living relationships with trees and the Earth. After an exploration of the exhibit and the tree cuttings and natural materials she uses in her pieces, Browne and Virginia Shou, a New York–based interdisciplinary designer and urban gardener will lead an art-making workshop. More information about the program can be found on this webpage - https://www.bbg.org/visit/event/asl_artist_talk_and_art_making_workshop This program is free, but pre-registration is required! If you'd like to attend, please RSVP via email to access@bbg.org with the names of everyone in your group.
