DEMANDS AND FOCUS OF THE ACTION: ● That People With Disabilities (PWD) be involved in all decisions and lawmaking that concern PWD. Nothing about us without us. ● That governmental policy is always based on sound, proven, transparently-communicated science. ● That the ADA be enforced with vigor, enthusiasm, and joy, calling attention to the United States’ current administration’s attacks on laws upholding rights for PWD. ● No budget cuts to Medicaid or Medicare. ● No budget cuts to organizations that support PWD. PROMOTION: Press release, PWD press representatives, social media campaign, website outlining the details of the action. ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair availability, ASL translators, marshals, accessibility information on our website, and a livestream of the rally for virtual participation. COMMUNITY BUILDING AT THE MARCH’S END: There will be an opportunity to network and let marchers know about participating organizations at the end of the event. We joyfully promote disability justice and intersectionality for people with disabilities of all races, genders, sexualities, and religions. We celebrate intersections between, but not limited to, visible and invisible, physical, cognitive, and mental health disabilities as well as non-neurotypical folks.
