Mark is a movement director and physical storyteller. He is also a CODA, an experience that shapes his work and his mission to create work that Deaf and Hearing audiences can experience equally. He is currently working on a short film with that mission in mind. A film that isn’t just accessible but made with the Deaf lens in mind. His team is looking for a Director of Photography in the NYC area (location negotiable) that is Deaf or Hard of Hearing and connected with the Deaf Community. They are looking for a highly collaborative individual, with a strong sense of light work and comfortable creating a dark void like space. They are looking to pay $600 a day for this person. Additional compensation is available if they are able to provide their own equipment. We are looking to film in March or April 2023 depending on schedules and availability of space. We are expecting the shoot itself to take 3-5 days. The Fridge (working title), is a short film about identity and self exploration. How we see the different facets of ourselves and the versions of ourselves that lay beneath the surface. It is also an exploration in storytelling that is not reliant on sound or dialogue but instead relies on physicality and lighting.
