NYC Black Interpreters: Their Place in Our Society and History
Deaf Seniors of Color (DSOC) is hosting a Black History Month Event in honor of NYC Black Interpreters for their excellence contributions to the Black Deaf Community of New York City. The event will be held at the Church of Saint Thomas More, 65 East 89th Street (bet. Madison & Park Ave), New York City, NY 10128 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Admission is $20.00 per person include hot buffet, drinks, door prizes (Admission can be paid at the door). Five Black Interpreter have been chosen to receive an appreciation award; Celeste Owens-Samuels, Howard Hines, Pearl Johnson, Kathleen Taylor, and Diane Smith.
