CART Tour at the Tenement Museum: Under the Roof
CART TOUR Join the Tenement Museum for our first CART captioned tour! An educator will lead a tour and visitors will receive real-time captions on their smartphones or on a device borrowed from the Museum for the duration of the tour. The tour will be an hour and half long followed by a reception featuring local Lower East Side foods. Thursday, October 4th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Under One Roof Brand New Tour! In the decades after World War II, the Lower East Side became one of New York’s most diverse neighborhoods. Visit the homes of Bella Epstein, whose parents survived the Holocaust, Jose and Andy Velez, whose mother left Puerto Rico for garment work, and the Wong siblings, whose stories of their mother and other garment workers are highlighted in an interactive, recreated Chinatown garment shop. Limited Wheelchair Capacity; Accessible by elevator 3rd Floor - Recommended Ages 8 and up. Tickets are free but reservations are required.
