Brooklyn Talks: “But Cubism!” with Hannah Gadsby
Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby catapulted to international acclaim with their 2018 comedy special Nanette. In conjunction with the opening of our special exhibition It’s Pablo-matic: Picasso According to Hannah Gadsby, organized on the fiftieth anniversary of Picasso’s death, Gadbsy addresses the iconic painter again—and the long-entrenched myths surrounding the “master” of modernity. Gadsby’s lecture “But Cubism!” is followed by a conversation with Catherine Morris, Sackler Senior Curator, Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, and Lisa Small, Senior Curator, European Art, about cocurating It’s Pablo-matic and the role of feminist critique in ongoing reconsiderations of Picasso’s legacy. Masks are required in the Auditorium and will be available upon arrival. Tickets are $40 and include after-hours admission to It’s Pablo-matic. Member tickets are $35. Not a Member? Join today! This program will include ASL interpretation. For access needs, please email us at access@brooklynmuseum.org.
