ASL Tour of the Sweatshop Workers
Pay a visit to the Levine family’s garment workshop and the Rogarshevskys’ Sabbath table at the turn of the 20th century, when the Lower East Side was the most densely populated place in the world. Explore how immigrants balanced work, family and religion at a time of great change. A Deaf educator will lead a tour, with no spoken English translation. The tour will be an hour and a half long, followed by a reception featuring local Lower East Side foods. Tickets are free but reservations are required.
