PS 347 – “47” The American Sign Language and English Lower school’s principal, David Thacker Bowell, will retire at the end of this summer. His position is now open. The school, at 225 East 23rd Street in New York City, provides dual language education in ASL and English to students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, including an extraordinary group of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, CODA (Children of Deaf Adults), and Hearing students. If you know of anyone (preferably Deaf or Hard of Hearing) who is fluent in ASL, has an in-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, and has the experience for this position, please spread the word to that person.
